COPY.

The Honourable,

Sir,

The Director of Public Works.

Public Works Department.

Accounts Office.

Hong Kong. 26th January, 1932.

I have the honour to attach for your information a

copy of letter addressed to me from Messrs. Thos. Cook &

Son, Ltd., regarding my enquiry of the cost of a return

passage by Steamer and Railway from Hong Kong

-

Farid Kot

(i.e. the destination in India) which I have to arrange for

my family on their return to India for a change, possibly

by first B.I.S.N. Co. steamer in February.

As out of the 4 passages required for my family

and arranged with the said firm by me, a refund for 3 passages

is due to me from the Government.

Though my leave is overdue since 15.6.31, but I

am not accompanying with my family and staying back to the

benefit of the Government, therefore I beg most respectfully

to request that you will kindly recommend me to the Government

for a refund of 3 passages as per quotation of the said firm

at an early date, as under the circumstances such arrangement

was necessary for the sake of convenience.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your obedient servant,

(sd) Badan Singh.

No. 12. Class II Clerk.
